Hosted by an Auckland Zoo guide, your walking tour will take you through Te Wao Nui, The Living Realm, home to more than 50 endemic animal species within six iconic New Zealand ecological habitats. You will discover fascinating animal facts and zoo tales about the critical conservation work Auckland Zoo does to protect these precious taonga. The guided tour will be approximately 1 hour.
After your tour, explore at your leisure will all day entry at Auckland Zoo. Home to over 135 different species and over 2,200 animals, Auckland Zoo is Aotearoa’s largest home of animals. Stroll through the 17-hectaresof natural inspiring and award-winning habitats for a fantastic day out with the whānau.
Take the time to be immersed in the Zoo’s largest ever redevelopment – the South East Asia Jungle Track. This track will take you on a journey through the different habitats of Indonesia, from the High canopy where siamangs and orangutans swing across 22m-high aerial pathways, under tiger bridges in the Lowlands and into the hot and humid Swamp Forest to get a close-up view of Sunda gharial crocodiles and hundreds of tropical freshwater fish.
